MUSEOTHERAPY
[Risography - 2024]
Format: 99 x 144 pixels (approximately 35 x 51 mm) in a 4 second video.
In a near future where postage stamps could be animated, this project delivers good news: the existence of museotherapy. Based on an article from France Culture, we learn that in Lille (France), and even in Canada, museum visits are being prescribed as a complement to therapy.
But how can we convey all this in such a short time? First, we play with medical imagery to show that this initiative takes place in a clinical setting with doctors involved. Then, we enhance the concept with colors typically associated with the medical field: shades of blue and white. Finally, I reference art by incorporating pills that form a character inspired by Keith Haring. To ensure these pills stand out and are easily distinguishable from the rest, I use bright colors.
The final and crucial step: the animation! It begins by drawing the frames and animating them in software. Next, the animation is broken down into a storyboard and printed using risograph. This storyboard is then revisited, frame by frame, to reanimate it, creating a second risograph animation.
